Michael Perry is a New York Times bestselling author, humorist and radio show host from New Auburn, Wisconsin. Perry’s bestselling memoirs include Population 485, Truck: A Love Story, Coop, and Visiting Tom. Raised on a small Midwestern dairy farm, Perry put himself through nursing school while working on a ranch in Wyoming, then wound up writing by happy accident. He lives with his wife and two daughters in rural Wisconsin, where he serves on the local volunteer fire and rescue service and is an amateur pig farmer. He hosts the nationally-syndicated “Tent Show Radio,” performs widely as a humorist, and tours with his band the Long Beds (currently recording their third album for Amble Down Records). He has recorded three live humor albums including Never Stand Behind A Sneezing Cow and The Clodhopper Monologues, is currently finishing his first young adult novel, and can be found online at www.sneezingcow.com.

About The Scavengers: Once the weather started going all wonky, the government thought that the best way for people to survive was to move UnderBubble in massive domed cities cut-off from the outside world. And twelve-year-old Maggie’s family decided to take their chances OutBubble. Now she, her parents, and her little brother Dookie live in the world that was left behind.

Deciding it’s time to grow up and grow tough, Maggie rechristens herself Ford Falcon—a name taken from a car she lives in near the junkyard. Luckily, Ford and her family are able to survive by scavenging things to barter with at a makeshift town close by. Ford’s family has been making do—despite having to fend off the occasional solar bear and avoid the GreyDevils that are always lurking around. But when she discovers her home has been ransacked and her family missing, Ford must prove she is strong enough to brave this wild world alone and rescue her loved ones.

Let's Get Lost by Adi Alsaid

Four teens across the country have only one thing in common: a girl named Leila. She crashes into their lives in her absurdly red car at the moment they need someone the most.

There's Hudson, a small-town mechanic who is willing to throw away his dreams for true love. And Bree, a runaway who seizes every Tuesday—and a few stolen goods along the way. Elliot believes in happy endings…until his own life goes off-script. And Sonia worries that when she lost her boyfriend, she also lost the ability to love.

Hudson, Bree, Elliot and Sonia find a friend in Leila. And when Leila leaves them, their lives are forever changed. But it is during Leila's own 4,268-mile journey that she discovers the most important truth—sometimes, what you need most is right where you started. And maybe the only way to find what you're looking for is to get lost along the way.

Adi Alsaid was born and raised in Mexico City. He attended college at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and is completely fluent in English, Spanish and Hebrew. After graduating, he packed up his car and escaped to the California coastline to become a writer. He's now back in his hometown, where he writes, coaches high school and elementary basketball, and makes every dish he eats as spicy as possible. In addition to Mexico, he's lived in Tel Aviv, Las Vegas and Monterey, California.

A sympathetic, sweet story about a girl who is famous in her fandom (think Harry Potter BNFs) going to her first year of college and navigating growing up, falling in love, and deciding how she wants to live her life. The characters are so real, I laughed and cried and couldn't put this down. I was afraid the book would come off as dismissive of fanfiction and fannish identity, but it doesn't (for those of you who were worried--I definitely was).  Tumblr fans will recognize the distinctive art of Noelle Stevenson (aka gingerhaze) gracing the cover.

The Summer Prince by Alaya Dawn Johnson

This is one of those books that has it all. Great character, plot, pacing, wonderful worldbuilding, and oh yeah, did I mention it's set in a dystopic matriarchal future Brazil and explores questions of identity, body modification, art, politics, culture, and fame? Oh oh, and ALSO, most people are bisexual and it's not a big deal. This is everything I have been waiting for in a YA novel.

Pantomime by Laura Lam

Highly recommended if you like alternate world fantasies and YA novels that deal with LGBTQI bodies and identities. Micah is a winning character and the worldbuilding has me raring for the sequel.
